Recreation Ground

High Legh Parish Council coordinated the redevelopment of the children’s playground during 2007, following the removal of equipment. Over £40,000 was raised from local groups, WREN, Lottery Awards for All and Macclesfield Borough Council (now Cheshire East) to purchase and install play equipment/benches in the playground and a teen shelter for the football field.

The official opening in October 2007 was attended by local MP George Osborne, the mayor of Macclesfield, and all sponsors.

The playground and larger football/recreation field are currently maintained by Cheshire East
